The East Texas Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) presented the Research Promotion Investor 2004-2005 Bronze Commemorative Coin to Trane on Thursday, March 16th, 2006 and to Carrier on Thursday, April 20.    Mr. Dave Pannier received the award on behalf of Trane from Mrs. Kristin Schaefer, President-elect of ASHRAE.  Mr. Eric Newberg received the award on behalf of Carrier from Mr. Don Schuster.  The presentations honored donations made by Trane and Carrier during the 2004-2005 Research Promotion Campaign.

ASHRAE uses the research promotion dollars received to fund numerous research projects in various universities and laboratories across the globe.  On the Bronze coin is featured Professor Warren S. Johnson, who patented the first electric room thermostat in 1883 and became the first President of what is now Johnson Controls.   Besides thanking Trane and Carrier for their monetary support, the ASHRAE East Texas Chapter personally thanks both companies' support of their employees as they devote their time to our organization.
