President’s Message

Due to unforeseen scheduling problems, we were unable to mail the September Slipstick. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. We’ve taken steps to prevent these problems in the future.

Fall is here and so is the start of another year in the East Texas Chapter of ASHRAE. This year finds us with several new committee chairmen and many new ideas. With new ideas come new opportunities to be active in your chapter. Look not only at what ASHRAE can do for you but what you can do for and in ASHRAE. We, your Board of Governors, are here to serve the Chapter’s needs. Help us by coming to the meetings and sharing your needs and interests.

Our October meeting will help determine the direction of our remaining ASHRAE year. Steve Chen and Tom Kennedy have prepared the attached member survey to help your Board of Governors present programs that better serve the interests of the membership. Your active participation and support are the real keys to a great year.

Our October meeting on commercial ground source heat pumps should be a very interesting detail oriented program. Come join us and help get our ASHRAE year off and flying.

See you there! Dan Pierce

Rene Martinez has explained how he did it in the April issue of SlipStick.

All of us in the East Texas Chapter of ASHRAE wish Rene Martinez, our past Slipstick editor, well in his pursuits beyond the Slipstick. I can only hope that eventually, I’ll be able to put out a Slipstick as fine as those we became accustomed to from Rene.
