BOG Meeting

7:30 AM Dwayne's Country Kitchen, 2202 East 5th Street, Tyler

President’s Message

I’d like to thank Mr. Henry Durrwachter of TXU Electric for taking time out of his busy schedule to join us last month. He gave an excellent overview of the electrical power supply and demand in Texas. We had great attendance for this wonderful presentation. But don’t worry if you couldn’t make it last month because we have many more fantastic programs throughout the remainder of the year for you to attend.

I would like to thank everyone for their efforts toward making every meeting a success…keep it up.

Please remember that the weekend of October 31 is Halloween weekend so please keep your eyes open for all the little ghosts and goblins that will be out asking for candy.

Hope to see you at this months meeting.

.

Sincerely,

Tom Kennedy

Chapter President

Tom Kennedy called the meeting to order at 7:55 AM. The previous month’s meeting minutes were approved as written. In attendance were Tom Kennedy, Robert Helt, Bert McJimsey, Jeff Stewart, Dick Cawley, Steve Hancock and Gene Branum. Tom passed out officer lists for the chapter and region. Tom committed to distributing PAOE sheets in the next few days. The board expressed a special thanks to Jay and Laura Field for the use of their home for the final meeting last spring. All BOG meetings will be held at Dwayne’s.

New Business. Jim Crawford’s Fellow application is under consideration again and Dick Cawley’s application shouldn’t be submitted until Jim’s is resolved.

Patrick Powell and Jeff Stewart will check with other engineering societies about having a joint meeting in November.

Aubrey Whitney is the ASHRAE web master.

Gene Branum requested a technical presentation for his students and Jason LeRoy was recommended. Gene will call him..

We had good attendance at the CRC this year.

Programs Report. Jeff Stewart headed up a programs committee which included Robert Helt, Bert McJimsey, and Tom Kennedy. All programs are committed for the year and only one facility for a spring program needs confirmation. This is the best job of lining up programs that I can remember over the last 4 years. Robert Helt has done a great job of getting facilities, including a program at the Carrier plant in Tyler.

The next meeting is a field trip to Texas Utilities Energy Park in Dallas. We’ll leave at 1:30 PM and return about 8 PM on October 21. We’ll need a good head count to order BBQ.
